We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your  faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.”

-Romans 12:6-8

Serving in the Church

We are all called to serve God in the ways that He has uniquely gifted us. The Anglican Church in Finland has opportunities for its congregation to serve.

Musically talented? Why not sing in the choir or be Sunday’s accompanist?
Loved by children? Feel free to volunteer with Sunday School.
Organized and detail oriented? You’re needed in administration!

Additionally, we’re always looking for people to read scripture, to help plan chaplaincy outings, to man (or woman) a stall at the bazaar, to serve as an acolyte, to clean up coffee- the list goes on. If you feel equipped to serve in any capacity, please make yourself known!

The Anglican Church in Finland does not receive money from the Finnish State through the “church tax”.  Its funding instead relies a grant generously provided by the Finnish Evangelical Lutheran Church and free will offerings.  The members of the Church (those who attend the church event regularly) are asked to consider if they could pay a voluntary membership fee:

  1. Voluntary membership fees paid directly to our bank account
