We are a vibrant Church which is looking to increase our membership and develop closer links with other Churches in the city to address pressing social needs. We are now looking to recruit an Office manager to help us meet these goals.
This newly expanded role will encompass three main areas of work: office administration, oversight of Church communications and events planning and execution.
Working directly with the Chaplain, Office manager will be responsible for the smooth running of the office, oversee all administrative matters, including financial aspects, and act as the first point of contact for general inquiries from the public. Office manager will be responsible for supporting the work of the Church Council (governing committee) and act as Secretary to the Council. Office manager will also provide support to the Church Wardens, Sunday School teachers and Youth Leaders as required.
Office manager will be responsible for maintaining and increasing our output across a range of channels; Facebook, Twitter, e-newsletters and Youtube. In addition Office manager will be expected to monitor and evaluate communications initiatives across the Diocese and offer advice on these with a view to increasing our output.
Events Planning & Execution
Throughout the year we arrange a number of different events: discussion forums, fund-raising occasions and social gatherings, which require planning with a range of partners. Office manager will lead on the planning of events and ensure that they are delivered successfully.
We are looking for a person with
- Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) in English and Finnish.
- An ability to work autonomously and flexibly to meet demands.
- Confident IT skills and experience of social media platforms.
We would also like this person to have
- Experience of accounting and accounting software (Netvisor).
- Experience of events planning and delivery.
Terms and Conditions of the Post
This is a half-time post (51% or 77,5 hours per month) for which the salary is ca €971. The Church office is located at Tehtaankatu 23 which is next to Mikael Agricola Church. The expectation is that the successful applicant will work from the office on a regular basis although scope also exists for home working on occasions.
