You will no doubt have heard about the catastrophic flooding in parts of Germany, Belgium, France, Netherlands & Luxembourg. Bishop Robert and Bishop David have asked us to join them in praying for the victims and those striving to help them:
Compassionate God, source of all comfort, We pray for those whose lives have been devastated by rain and flood. Comfort the bereaved and bring healing to those who are traumatised. Give strength and compassion to those who bring relief and aid. In the power of your Spirit we pray for the rebuilding of physical communities, and for a shared sense of solidarity and trust in your goodness known through human kindness. We pray in the name of our Saviour Jesus Christ, Amen.

Pirjo Dillingham's
Apple & Oatmeal Crumble
If you have a recipe you would be willing to share then please email it to Sarah at office@anglican.fi.
1 kg apples, peeled and cored and chopped
1 teaspoon cinnamon or cardamom
100 g melted butter or margarine
½ dl castor sugar or soft brown sugar (“fariinisokeri”)
3 dl rolled oats / oat flakes
Place the apples in a buttered oven dish. Sprinkle them with the cinnamon or cardamom.
Mix the butter and sugar and oats. Spread the mixture over the apples.
Bake at about 200C for about 20 minutes until the apples have become soft
Serve with custard or vanilla sauce or ice cream.
NB. Before baking, you may add grated fresh ginger to the apples. And add, if desired, honey or syrup (reducing the amount of sugar). You may add desiccated coconut and nuts to the crumble mixture.
Fresh plums, nectarines and apricots can be added during baking. Frozen berries are also suitable, in which case mix potato flour with the berries in order to reduce the amount of liquid.

ANNUAL CHAPLAINCY MEETING- Sunday 29th August 2021
If you wish to propose someone for one of the lay roles in our Chaplaincy then now is the time to encourage them before our ACM! You can pick up a form at the back of church or download it from the website https://www.anglican.fi/registration-forms/If the person you wish to stand agrees then you can sign the section which requires them to have a 'Proposer'. The completed forms can be handed back to Rebecca at the entrance, or to the Churchwardens. We have a leaflet at the back of Church giving an overview of the lay roles which are so vital to the life of the Chaplaincy!
Please remember that in order to stand for election or to vote at the meeting you need to be on the Electoral Roll. If you added your name to the electoral roll back in 2019 then you don't need to put your name down again until 2025, but if you are unsure or would like to check then please don't hesitate to get in touch with Sarah in the office. To be added to the Electoral Roll and/or to stand for one of our lay roles then please fill out the relevant form and return it before the ACM. Our Annual Report is available here: Annual Report 2020
